Breast Cancer Awareness

As I am sure you already know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This month is especially near and dear to my heart.  Almost six years ago my Aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She has a strength that is unfathomable.  She is a warrior and an inspiration!!!  Now because of her this month takes on a double purpose for me: #1 – spread awareness in any way possible, #2 – celebrate my Aunt’s life and the lives of every women or man that has fought this disease.

There are so many ways that you can help spread awareness.  One of my favorite ways is wearing Breast Cancer Awareness apparel and no one does it better than the NFL.  There is something so beautiful about beastly men wearing pink with pride!

The NFL does not miss any details.  Even the refs’ whistles are pink.

If you want to dress the NFL players it is simple.  Here a link to some awesome pink football gear.

Not only does the NFL make sure the players are supporting all things pink.  They also make sure the fans are getting in on the action.  Here are a few of my favorite pink picks from the Eagles pro shop & from footballfanatics.  Head over to your favorite team’s pro shop and start spreading awareness today!

If you are not one to wear pink another fantastic way to help the cause is participating in an Breast Cancer Awareness races.  There are many organizations that host these races but non are as big as the Race for the Cure. If you have never heard of Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure 5Ks you should head of to their site and get the details. Or maybe you are looking for a race longer than a 5k, have no fear you can also check out Marathon for the Cure.

Whatever or however you decide to spread awareness does not matter! It only matters that you do it!

I would love to hear how you guys share knowledge about the causes close to your heart!
